Our Kyokushin Classes
Classes consist of basic techniques (kihon), moving basics (Ido Geko), Kata (forms), self defence (Goshin Jutsu), prearranged and free fighting (Kumite). This is done in a well-paced controlled environment.
Currently we offer two types of classes:
Junior (5 - 9): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6 - 7 p.m.
Adult (10 and up): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Classes are designed with age groups in mind, increasing intensity and knowledge base with age and experience of the student.
Classes are taught twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays. While attendance is not mandatory, students are encouraged to participate in as many classes as possible. However a minimum number of classes are required to participate in grading. Typically this is 60% but the final decision is up to the instructor.
Gradings are held twice per year at the end of the winter and summer sessions, January and June. Students are eligible for two gradings per year. Again, at the discretion of the instructor.
Alternate dates can be made to participate in gradings at the annual summer camp or at other dojos.
